Chastain Park Tennis Center

Chastain Park Tennis Center
110 West Wieuca Road NE
404-817-6744

The Chastain Park Tennis Center (CPTC) is located at the front door of Chastain Park at the Southeast corner of Powers Ferry and West Wieuca. CPTC offers nine newly resurfaced, lighted hard courts for public daily use.

The new Chastain Tennis Center is one of the first major capital improvements in the 2008 Master Plan approved by the City Council during the Franklin administration. Consistent with the 2008 Master Plan’s emphasis on sustainability, the City applied for certification of the tennis center as an Earthcraft building meaning it reaches certain criteria as a green, energy efficient building and is similar to a LEED certification. The Chastain Park Conservancy assisted with the design and landscaping of the facility.

The original tennis center building built in the 1940s burned and rebuilt in 1979. The present facility includes equipment sales, locker rooms, restrooms, offices and a small concession area. Even though it is the smallest of the City’s tennis centers, it is the second busiest center. Chastain averages approximately 1,000 participants per month.

Open play is available on a first come, first serve basis. The center partners with The Galloway School to host their Varsity and Junior Varsity boys’ and girls’ teams and also assists with their elementary student tennis classes. The center has several spring and summer programs including the Chastain Tennis Academy for high-level playing juniors and the Chastain Tennis Center Junior and Tot Summer Camps for youth 5-16 years of age. The center offers lessons for juniors, teens, adults and seniors including private, semi-private and group lessons.
