About Us:
The Cheektowaga Central Middle/High School has educational and athletic facilities to provide the students with education program and extra-curricular activities. The educational programs include a wide variety of courses designed to challenge and support students as they strive to achieve high standards and to accommodate their abilities and interests. Union East Elementary School houses students in grades 2-5 while full-day Kindergarten and grade one students attend the Pine Hill Primary Center. Universal Pre-K (UPK) classes are housed at Pine Hill and also at Mary Queen of Angels Catholic School, the collaborative UPK partner.
Computer technology integration influences all students, teachers, and staff. There are fully equipped computer labs, as well as mobile labs, supporting student learning across the curriculum in the schools. Students in grades PreK-12 typically have a cluster of four to six networked computers and a printer in their classrooms. Communications among parents, staff and the community is available through a phone/voice mail system. The district website provides information for parents and for the entire community. There is a Parent Portal on the website which allows parents of students in grades 4-12 to monitor their child’s academic progress by viewing their grades.
Cheektowaga Central continues to move forward with school improvement efforts that focus upon student achievement. The district is implementing the three year Comprehensive District Education Plan (CDEP) which was adopted by the Board of Education in November 2008. CDEP Progress Reports and Plans for 2009-2010 were adopted by the Board in November 2009. Our focus is on overall student development and on excellence in English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Across the grades and subject areas, the curriculum is aligned with New York State standards and assessments.
