The parents, teachers, and staff of Currituck County High School will provide a safe and disciplined environment that fosters mutual respect and shared responsibility and that endows each student with the academic, social, and physical skills needed to become a successful citizen.
About Us:
CCHS is located in the center of Currituck County in Barco, North Carolina. Located approximately 30 minutes from the beautiful Outer Banks, our school serves all students residing in Currituck County, including Knotts Island and Corolla.
As the only traditional, comprehensive high school in the county, our school serves approximately 1,100 students in grades 9-12. We provide to each student an extensive selection of courses and academic programs to choose from, including college preparatory, career and technical education courses, as well as honors and AP courses. Our instructional day operates on a 4x4 block schedule with 85 minutes per class period. In addition to traditional instruction on the 4x4block, a Power Hour offers students a 30 minute lunch period and 30 minutes for other instructional opportunities: tutoring, clubs, special topics, and/or engaging in physical activities or socialization.
