Mary O’ Malley Park, located on Admirals Hill along the Mystic River, offers striking views of the Tobin Bridge and the city beyond and is within easy walking distance of Chelsea center. Adding to the park’s charm are its spring blooming cherry trees along the waterfront, and a wind sculpture. Recreational opportunities abound here, especially at its large playground and tennis courts. The large open field interspersed with many shade trees provides space for picnics, playing frisbee, or kite flying. The walkways along the full length of the park are popular among runners and walkers throughout the year. During the summer months crowds gather in the park to watch the Apollinaire Theatre Company perform free shows in both English and Spanish. The park is named after a local resident and member of the Chelsea Land Bank advisory committee who was instrumental in its creation.
