North Buncombe's Mission Statement:
North Buncombe High School will achieve excellence by providing students a life-long learning system which will involve the school and the entire community, recognize that students have diverse learning abilities an inspire students and adults to become productive citizens while realizing their maximum potential.

North Buncombe's Beliefs Statements:
1.)  Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share responsibility for advancing the school's mission.
2.)  A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning
3.)  Student learning is the chief priority for the school.
4.)  Students need to apply their learning in meaningful concerns
5.)  Students need not only demonstrate their understanding of essential knowledge and skills, but also need to be actively involved in solving problems and producing quality work.
6.) Assessments of student learning should provide students a variety of opportunities to demonstrate their achievement of the expectations for their learning.
7.)  Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
8.)  The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become confident, self directed, lifelong, learning.
9.)  Schools need to function as a learning organization and promote opportunities for all who have a stake in the success of the school to work together as a community of learners.
