About Us:
The University of Baltimore was founded in 1925. It became a state institution in 1975, and today is part of the University System of Maryland.
There are four schools within the University of Baltimore: the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences, the Merrick School of Business, the College of Public Affairs, and the School of Law.
We're located in the heart of the city's Mount Vernon Cultural District, Baltimore's most creative and energetic community. You'll be just steps away from the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Lyric Opera House, Centerstage, and the Walters Art Museum. Plus, you'll enjoy the shops, restaurants, and some of the most impressive 19th century architecture on the East Coast.
According to the American Institute of Economic Research, Baltimore ranks seventh in a study of large U.S. cities that are the best places to attend college. The city joins New York, San Francisco, Boston, Washington, Seattle, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and a handful of others in providing an inspiring academic environment, good quality of life and many professional opportunities for college students of all types.
